Genesis Devotion by Nicole Halbrooks Vaughn
Over the years I have read many different devotion books, from the standard short paragraph ones with a question and verse at the end, to the in depth ones where you are searching the Bible in detail.
What I found with this devotion is a fresh new perspective. This devotion is different from other ones I have read. There are no questions to answer, but a lot of verses throughout and wonderfully worded prayers at the end of sections. They are great reminders to always be in prayer.
Each section is filled with worded illustrations of the stories in a way that makes it easy to relate to.
They show how the stories in Genesis are still relevant today. I loved the personal touch the author added which gives the material a relatable aspect.
We learn the great stories of the beginning, with the reminder that God will never leave us. The rainbow after the flood shows his love for us. Another important thing I came away with was the fact that our salvation is personal. We can't save anyone else. It takes a personal obedience to Christ for it to be real. We can put our faith and trust in God for everything.
With the authors honest writing and ability to weave all the great truths into a book that is easy to read and understand, I look forward to reading more devotions on other books!

Romance of Grace by Jim McNeely
I was really looking forward to reading this book! I was interested to see what he would say, and how he would address this topic. We learn from this book that grace can not be commanded or forced. We have to choose for ourselves to accept the grace given us. He starts out with relating the topic to both parables from the Bible, and to current movies and such. I feel this was a great way to introduce us to his thought process. It was great also for someone who might be new to the concept of Grace and might need help understanding.
We find that real grace happens when we stop focusing on the power of the forbidden, and our true desire is for God. God loves us no matter what, and more than we can imagine. We see throughout this book that it isn't our love, but Christ's love. Jim McNeely does a great job explaining each topic carefully and in a way that anyone can understand. He explains through examples about law and the difference between being moral and good. We have an innate desire to sacrifice and he does a wonderful job relating this to grace.
The book is written well and is clear and easy to understand. He includes Bible Verses throughout each chapter to lead you to the truth found in the Bible. At the end of each chapter, the reader is provided with discussion questions meant to draw you closer in, and get you to think about what you have read.
I love that he speaks truth, and allows us, as the reader, the chance to discover this truth for ourselves.
Whether you are a Christian or not, there is a lot of great information and direction for leading you closer in a relationship with Christ. It will strengthen your relationship and remind you of what grace really is.

Bible Verse Certificates
Bible Verse Certificate
Have you ever had an occasion where you just can't find the right gift? You know you need something special but you want to make sure it reflects their uniqueness and personality. BibleVerse.org has it all! You can make a certificate for any occasion from weddings, birthdays, a new baby, graduations, Mother or Father's Day, Christmas and much more. The certificates are available in English and Spanish and offer 20 unique styles.
You provide them with the name of the recipient and when you get the certificate, they have added Bible Verses which include the letters in the name.
For my certificate, I chose to send them my son's name. I wanted him to have a reminder of God's love and verses that reflect that. I love seeing how he is growing in his relationship with Christ and this is a wonderful way to see it laid out.
I was impressed with how nice it looked when I received the final product. It looks professional and the verses chosen were perfect. I chose to use the music style for the border because he loves to play piano. His favorite music is praise and worship, so I thought it would be fitting and create his own personalized style. Certificates also fit nicely into an 8 1/2" x 11" certificate frame and a 10" x 13" or 11" x 14" frame each matted to an 8" x 10"Now it's your turn, for a chance to win a certificate for someone you love!
Disclosure:I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
